I am a Board Approved Supervisor with the Oregon Board of Licensed Counselors & Therapists. I've
been supervising interns for over 7 years, and I began by supervising clinical staff prior to that.
While
I am able to supervise interns with a focus on several therapeutic theories, my clinical thinking is formulated from an Interpersonal
Neurobiology (IPNB) perspective. So, when I work with an intern regarding Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, for example,
I do so by focusing on bodily perspectives and right-brain issues as well as the client's thinking and behavior.
I
believe an intern should consider supervision a very valuable and important investment in their career. Wise interns select
their supervisor(s) carefully, based on the supervisor's clinical history and expertise as well as personality. Finding a
good working relationship which will support learning and growth is equally important to the base of knowledge a supervisor
must possess in order to foster a therapist through the internship phase.
Because many interns are struggling
with agency wages and school loans--and insurance doesn't cover internship supervision--I don't charge my full clinical fee
for my supervision services.
My supervision fees are:
- 50-minute
Individual supervision -- $85.00
- 50-minute Group supervision -- $40.00
